Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PCU RN with at least one year of experience and active GA or compact RN license for a night shift telemetry position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
• Care for mixed medical-surgical/telemetry, intermediate, neuro, respiratory, and cardiac patients
• Assignments may include all PCU, all MS/Tele, or a mix, based on patient acuity and staffing needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is high at 1:4-5
• Utilizes Epic for charting, Pyxis medication dispensing, and SBAR communication tools
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the facility
• No on-call responsibilities
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Duties include managing telemetry and intermediate acuity patients, titrating cardiac drips, and handling a mixed patient population
• Scrub color is navy blue
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed, not permitted during first week of assignment
• Must be willing to work holidays according to unit policy based on assignment period
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Returning travelers must have been away from all facilities for one full year before returning
• If ineligible to return to one Piedmont facility, a successful assignment at another location outside the system is required before returning
• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience titrating cardiac drips and providing telemetry care required
• Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
• Ability to manage a high patient ratio
• Two supervisory references from a manager or above required for consideration
