Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift renal unit assignment, requiring a GA or compact RN license and experience with adult to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical Renal unit
• Adult to geriatric patient population with an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit has 49 rooms with an average daily census of 48
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Floating to other units as needed
• No call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR (experience required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Expected to work assigned major holidays according to facility holiday policy
• A maximum of 7 days of requested time off is permitted, with no time off allowed during the first week of assignment
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Full compliance with facility requirements is necessary prior to start; delayed compliance may impact assignment start date
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Travel pairs are not permitted to be assigned the same shift on the same unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility accepts local candidates at the same rate

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Experience with renal patients preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above
• Former perm/PRN staff must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Return travelers unable to return to a facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before returning
