Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift position, requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least two years of recent telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
• Handles diagnoses such as CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and vascular issues
• Patient ratio is typically 1:4-5 with 16 rooms on the unit
• Uses Epic for charting, Pyxis for medication management, and SBAR for communication
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other units as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Responsibilities include monitoring and caring for telemetry patients with a variety of cardiac and vascular conditions
• Navy blue scrubs are required for this assignment
• Holiday coverage is required as per assignment length: work one holiday if one falls during the contract, both holidays if two, and two if three major holidays fall within assignment
• Candidates must be fully compliant with onboarding requirements to start on time; non-compliance will delay orientation by two weeks due to bi-weekly schedule
• No blocked scheduling is permitted
• Travel pairs may not be scheduled on the same shift in the same unit
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates will be accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cannot return if not separated from any Piedmont facility for at least one full year
• Must provide two supervisory references from managers or higher
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off is allowed, but not during the first week of assignment
