Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position requiring at least two years of nursing and telemetry experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital environment on Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Role involves regular floating between like units according to skill set
• Patient ratios are 1:5 on both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule is 3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
• EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
• No on-call requirements
• Responsibilities include providing nursing care to med/surg and telemetry patients and floating as needed
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state if needed
• Requested time off should be minimal and submitted up front; more than one week is discouraged
• Returning travelers must comply with the facility’s separation and radius rules

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum two years of med/surg and telemetry nursing experience
• Current BCLS certification required
• ACLS, MAB, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• References from at least two supervisors covering one year of comparable experience within the last three years required
• Candidates must not have permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility
• Former permanent staff must have a minimum 3-month separation before returning as a traveler
• Charge Nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted
