Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position requiring at least two years of nursing and telemetry experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a short-term acute care hospital environment on Med/Surg and Telemetry units
- Role involves regular floating between like units according to skill set
- Patient ratios are 1:5 on both day and night shifts
- Night shift schedule is 3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
- EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
- No on-call requirements
- Responsibilities include providing nursing care to med/surg and telemetry patients and floating as needed
- All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state if needed
- Requested time off should be minimal and submitted up front; more than one week is discouraged
- Returning travelers must comply with the facility’s separation and radius rules
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum two years of med/surg and telemetry nursing experience
- Current BCLS certification required
- ACLS, MAB, and NIHSS certifications preferred
- References from at least two supervisors covering one year of comparable experience within the last three years required
- Candidates must not have permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility
- Former permanent staff must have a minimum 3-month separation before returning as a traveler
- Charge Nurse experience preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted
