Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring strong neuroscience background and EPIC proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Position is within a 10-bed Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) in a hospital setting
• Care for critically ill stroke patients, non-traumatic neurosurgery, and neurology patients aged 18 and older
• Types of care include post-operative neurosurgery, neuro-endovascular procedures, ICP monitoring, CRRT, ventilator and hemodynamic management
• Night shift position with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Every other weekend required
• May be asked to float to other ICUs if needed
• No call requirements
• Care for COVID patients may be required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Responsibilities include caring for post IV/IA tPA, mechanical thrombectomy, AVM repair, aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, craniotomy, and overflow medical patients
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
• Requested time off is limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract
• Local candidates within 50 miles will be considered at a lower rate
• Pre-start online modules (5-6 hours) must be completed
• Manager interview required as part of the hiring process
• Pair applications (travel pairs) are allowed but matched schedules are not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active RN license in PA or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA or ARC only)
• Experience with EVD, ICP, angiogram post care, CRRT, carotid interventions, and embolizations required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must have a clean license without disciplinary action
