Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a SICU ICU position with night shifts and every other weekend requirement.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) within a hospital setting
• Adult patients including stroke, complex post-op surgical cases, respiratory distress, and COVID
• Nurse to patient ratio is 2:1
• Special procedures performed include external ventricular drain (EVD) management
• Cerner is the charting system used
• Night shifts, 12 hours each
• Required to work every other weekend
• Float as needed within skillset to other critical care areas
• Provide care for adults with acute and complex medical and surgical needs
• EVD management skills necessary
• Scrub color requirements apply
• No on-call required for this position

Requirements

• Active RN license in Alabama or compact state required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ICU experience required
• Experience with neurological, surgical, and critical care patient populations preferred
• Ability to use Cerner EMR preferred
