Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a SICU ICU position with night shifts and every other weekend requirement.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) within a hospital setting
- Adult patients including stroke, complex post-op surgical cases, respiratory distress, and COVID
- Nurse to patient ratio is 2:1
- Special procedures performed include external ventricular drain (EVD) management
- Cerner is the charting system used
- Night shifts, 12 hours each
- Required to work every other weekend
- Float as needed within skillset to other critical care areas
- Provide care for adults with acute and complex medical and surgical needs
- EVD management skills necessary
- Scrub color requirements apply
- No on-call required for this position
Requirements
- Active RN license in Alabama or compact state required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ICU experience required
- Experience with neurological, surgical, and critical care patient populations preferred
- Ability to use Cerner EMR preferred
