Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Cardiac position requiring night shifts and active WV or compact RN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 20-bed Stepdown Cardiac unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes pulmonary, cardiac, neuro, GI, surgical, adult med-surg, telemetry, and stepdown patients
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1, but may be up to 5:1 as needed
• Care for patients who may require critical drips such as Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin
• Night shift, 3x12 hour schedule (19:00 to 07:00)
• Patients do not require invasive monitoring in this unit
• Modules must be completed during orientation and annually
• Travelers must complete lab work within 72 hours of signing contract
• Local candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit
• Care involves monitoring patients who are stable but at higher risk for instability

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Must provide two professional references for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and SSN required
