Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Med/Surg night shift position requiring EPIC experience and an active Illinois RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital cardiac unit (Med/Surg 5C) specializing in cardiac patient care
• Patient population includes cardiac medical/surgical cases
• Night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am, three shifts per week
• Uses EPIC electronic medical records system; prior EPIC experience required
• No floating, call, or travel partner assignments
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac Med/Surg patients following the nursing process
• Responsible for developing and evaluating care plans and accurately documenting patient care
• Adhere to all department competencies, ensure patient and employee safety, and offer constructive peer feedback
• RTO must not exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Assignments at this hospital cannot exceed one year without a six-month break before returning
• Compliance documentation must be submitted by deadlines to avoid start date delays
• No travel partners accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing or temporary license accepted
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required; three or more years preferred
• Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma hospital setting required
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
