Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical Tele position requiring 2 years of recent MS/Tele experience and BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a new Medical/Surgical Telemetry department at a hospital setting
• Three 12-hour day shifts per week are required
• Uses Cerner EMR and experience with this system is required
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Responsible for initial and ongoing assessment, including admission assessments and appropriate documentation
• Expected to deliver age-appropriate, competent patient care and interpret patient needs
• Works collaboratively to fulfill the needs of patients, families, and the community
• Must apply knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to provide care
• First-time travelers will not be considered

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license, with no pending status
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience in a U.S. hospital required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required (AHA only)
• CPI certification mandated by the position
• Cerner EMR experience required
• BSN highly desired
• U.S. Social Security Number required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred verifying recent relevant experience
