Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Medical/Surgical Tele position requiring a TX or compact license, two years of Med/Surg Tele experience, and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week
• Patient population includes a variety of adult medical and surgical cases requiring telemetry monitoring
• Uses Cerner EMR, prior Cerner experience required
• No local candidates accepted; must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• Responsible for conducting thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments with proper documentation
• Delivers age-appropriate care across the patient lifespan
• Demonstrates ability to interpret and respond to patients’ needs promptly
• Completes admission assessments within policy timeframes
• Works closely with a multidisciplinary team to address complex patient care needs
• Reference checks from managers or supervisors required to verify recent clinical experience
• AHA certifications only accepted
• Facility-mandated dress code and scrub requirements must be followed

Requirements

• Active TX or compact state RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum two years of RN experience in a U.S. hospital Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) highly desired
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for the position
• Cerner EMR experience required
• COVID and Flu vaccination documentation required
• Social Security Number (SSN) and valid driver's license required
