Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a MN RN license and proficiency with critical care certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of an acute care hospital
• 5-bed ICU unit with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Care for patients with stroke, STEMI, non-STEMI, and those requiring TPN
• Administer drips including Cardizem, insulin, propofol, Versed, and vasopressors
• Utilizes Hamilton C-1 ventilators
• EMR systems used are Paragon-Hospital and Allscripts Touch Works-Clinis
• Shift schedule includes day/night rotation with mainly night shifts, 12-hour shifts, and every 3rd weekend
• Required to work every other weekend and seven major holidays as scheduled
• Floating to Med Surg units may be required
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts
• Support staff includes hospitalists in-house and nurse aides as needed
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 with on-call coverage after 6 pm and 10-minute response time
• Pharmacy support is in-house until 10 pm and remote after
• Scrub colors are royal blue for RNs and steel gray for CNAs
• Must be able to care for critical patients with complex diagnoses, including stroke and cardiac events

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
• Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required
• Experience with ICU drips and ventilator management needed
• Previous experience using Allscripts and Paragon-Hospital EMR preferred
