Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 3 years of NICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit caring for infants as early as 23-24 weeks gestation
• Unit has 77 beds with an average census of 50
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
• Rarely required to float, but may be asked to float to nearby campuses or pediatric units to care for newborns only
• Equipment utilized includes CPAP/BiPap, high frequency vents, oscillators, ventilators, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps
• Epic EMR experience required
• Travel RNs do not typically perform newborn admissions, as a dedicated Admit Nurse is assigned to this role
• Responsibilities include high-risk delivery attendance, care for neonatal surgeries, and management of complex medical equipment
• Minimal to no time off is allowed; all requests must be addressed prior to assignment offer
• Block scheduling is approved, allowing several consecutive shifts
• All travelers are expected to float within state and between all facilities if needed
• Local candidates may be subject to radius rules based on facility policy

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
• Current certifications appropriate for NICU assignment required
• Must have experience with Level III or IV NICU patient care
• Ability to float to different campuses if needed
• Employment eligibility requires a minimum 3-month separation from previous Providence-affiliated permanent positions
• Candidates must provide supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years in a comparable specialty
