Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 3 years of NICU experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit caring for infants as early as 23-24 weeks gestation
- Unit has 77 beds with an average census of 50
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
- Rarely required to float, but may be asked to float to nearby campuses or pediatric units to care for newborns only
- Equipment utilized includes CPAP/BiPap, high frequency vents, oscillators, ventilators, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps
- Epic EMR experience required
- Travel RNs do not typically perform newborn admissions, as a dedicated Admit Nurse is assigned to this role
- Responsibilities include high-risk delivery attendance, care for neonatal surgeries, and management of complex medical equipment
- Minimal to no time off is allowed; all requests must be addressed prior to assignment offer
- Block scheduling is approved, allowing several consecutive shifts
- All travelers are expected to float within state and between all facilities if needed
- Local candidates may be subject to radius rules based on facility policy
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license
- Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
- Current certifications appropriate for NICU assignment required
- Must have experience with Level III or IV NICU patient care
- Ability to float to different campuses if needed
- Employment eligibility requires a minimum 3-month separation from previous Providence-affiliated permanent positions
- Candidates must provide supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years in a comparable specialty
