Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down Unit position requiring Texas or compact state licensure and Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short term acute care hospital within the Step Down Unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Floating required between units and facilities within the state
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• Level II Trauma Center setting
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months and cannot reside within 50 miles to be eligible as a traveler
• Solid navy blue scrubs are required for nursing personnel
• Minimal to no RTO is permitted; all time off requests must be submitted during application
• Free parking is available in designated employee/visitor lots
• First time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state required
• Minimum of 2 years recent step down or relevant acute care RN experience
• Current certifications and SS card, driver’s license, and COVID/Flu documentation required for consideration
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty
• Epic charting experience is required
