Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III or IV Neonatal ICU night shift position requiring at least three years of NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Level III or IV NICU with an average census of 50 patients and 77 total beds
  • Population served includes neonates as early as 23-24 weeks gestation
  • Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30), with block scheduling available
  • May float to other campuses including Issaquah, Edmonds SCN, or Pediatrics (care for newborns only) as needed
  • Specialized care includes CPAP/BiPAP, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, cooling/warming blankets, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, syringe pumps, high risk deliveries, and neonatal surgeries
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Travel RNs are not typically responsible for admitting babies as the unit has a dedicated Admit Nurse
  • Floating is rare but may occur if there is a need at another campus
  • All travelers must be willing to float to other campuses or units within the state as required
  • Minimal to no time off is permitted; all requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application
  • First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded
  • COVID and Flu vaccination requirements must be met

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of three years recent NICU experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Must provide two supervisory references covering at least one year of NICU employment within the last three years
  • Previous permanent employees at any Providence-affiliated facility must have a 3-month separation before consideration as a traveler
  • Cannot live within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible
