Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager with oncology and pediatric experience for a day-shift outpatient neuro-oncology position in California.
Responsibilities
- Outpatient setting supporting neuro-oncology patient population
- Serves neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
- Average daily census is 20 to 22 patients
- Works day shifts with 2x8-hour shifts every other week and 3x8-hour shifts every other week (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
- Floating is required to provide coverage for colleagues
- No call requirement
- Care manager role involves developing individualized roadmaps, coordinating labs, scans, referrals, and DME
- Responsible for assessment, implementation of orders, coordination of appointments and follow-ups, and care transition planning
- Works within a multidisciplinary team to support neuro-oncology patients
- Duties include care coordination, authorization, transition planning, referrals, and needs assessment
- Knowledge of chemotherapy interactions is necessary
- No requirement to administer chemotherapy
- Standard pediatric dress code in effect
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of case manager experience
- Oncology and pediatric experience required
- PALS or PEARS certification required
- CPHON certification preferred
- Experience with neuro-oncology patients and familiarity with chemotherapy roadmaps (no chemotherapy administration required)
- No first-time travelers will be considered
