Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with both scrub and circulate experience for a Pediatric Operating Room position requiring a WV or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 30-bed Pediatric Operating Room unit caring for patients from newborn to 17 years old
• Day shifts with 5x8-hour schedule from 6:45 to 15:15
• Weekday and weekend on-call duties with a rotating, self-scheduled call schedule
• No floating required outside the assigned unit
• EMR systems used include Cerner, Accudose, and SBAR
• Provide circulating and scrub nursing care in pediatric surgical procedures
• Experience with robotic surgery is highly valued
• Work in a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU at a major teaching hospital
• Bright blue scrubs are required for this position
• Free parking is available for travelers
• Flu vaccination is required during flu season unless medically exempt
• Former permanent employees must wait two years after last day worked before returning as a traveler
• RTO requests will be considered with no specific restrictions

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required prior to start (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Scrub and circulate experience in the operating room is required
• Experience in a pediatric and women’s specialty setting required
• Travel experience preferred
• IV start skills preferred
• No first-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
