Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 1 year OR experience and a WV or compact license for a Level 1 Trauma Center position with call and weekend requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a major teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center
• Patient population includes trauma, vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic (trauma only), urology, endoscopy, bariatrics, plastics, OMFS, dental, renal transplant, ENT, head and neck, oncology, and pediatrics
• Handles special procedures including trauma surgery and robotic-assisted surgery using the Davinci Robot
• Uses Neptunes, microscopes, Cerner EMR, and other specialty OR equipment
• Shift is 4x10 hour days (06:45-17:15) with every other weekend required
• Participation in self-scheduled call rotation for weeknights and weekends
• Operating Room responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a variety of surgical specialties, including robotics
• Team support provided in a high-acuity, multidisciplinary environment
• No floating required outside the OR
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Surgical scrubs in royal blue or white are provided
• Free parking garage available for travelers
• Candidates permanently employed at this facility must wait 2 years before returning as a traveler
• No RTO restrictions specified

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required by start date (pending license may be considered for submission)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year in the OR specialty
• BLS certification required
• Previous experience circulating and scrubbing in both general and pediatric OR settings required
• Must be comfortable performing specialized surgical cases including trauma and robotic procedures
• No first-time travelers accepted
• IV start skills preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Flu vaccine is required during flu season unless medically exempt
