Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Float Pool position requiring a MO or compact RN license and previous travel experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical Float Pool in a hospital setting
• Care for adult medical/surgical patients, age 16 and older, across multiple service lines
• Patient population includes neurology, internal medicine, family medicine, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology cases
• Common diagnoses include diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal disease, orthopedic fractures, and neurological deficits
• Perform general floor care procedures including IV therapy, labs, NG tubes, wound care, and conscious sedation
• Float assignment throughout the med/surg service line
• Day shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30
• Required to work every other weekend
• Must work at least 50% of holidays during the contract
• Cerner charting system is used; experience preferred but not required
• Responsible for assisting physicians with bedside procedures and providing conscious sedation
• Adult overflow unit supports all admitting physician teams and assists with hospital throughput
• Locals within a 75-mile radius accepted at a reduced rate
• RTO must be requested at the time of consideration
• CPI Blue Card required only for Behavioral Health RNs; not required for this position
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Requirements

• Active MO or compact state RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability to work assigned shift, weekends, and holidays as specified
• Must be able to charge as needed
