Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in Michigan requiring Level 2 trauma experience and expertise in multiple surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
• Caring for patients during surgical procedures in a Level 2 Trauma environment
• Covers surgical cases including Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, General/GYN, and Urology
• Afternoon shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, working 12-hour shifts
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Responsible for patient assessment, individualized care plan development, and intraoperative safety
• Provides leadership and supervision to the OR team
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members
• May participate in staff development and continuing education opportunities
• A maximum of five days of requested time off allowed
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be considered for only one 13-week contract
• All scheduling requests must be submitted prior to consideration
• Standard hospital dress code for OR staff applies

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years RN Operating Room experience required
• Experience in Level 2 trauma setting required
• Proficiency in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, General/GYN, and Urology cases required
• Recent travel nursing experience is highly preferred
• Submission of relevant skills checklist within the last year and two supervisory references from the last two years required
