Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a knowledgeable RN for a Cardio Thoracic ICU position requiring CT or compact licensure and proficiency with swan-ganz monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Work in a high acuity Cardio Thoracic ICU within a short-term acute care hospital
• Level I Trauma Center environment with adult cardiac patient population
• Average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 for both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule working four 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:00)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other heart and vascular center ICUs may be required
• Uses Epic for charting
• Primary responsibilities include providing specialized care to high-acuity cardiac surgery and critically ill patients
• First-time travelers with appropriate Cardio Thoracic ICU or critical care experience will be considered
• Travelers may be required to work during natural disasters or emergency events
• Return employees must have a two-year gap after permanent employment to be considered for travel roles
• A 75-mile radius from the facility is required; locals not accepted for this role
• Up to 7 days of requested time off will be auto approved; requests over 7 days require approval

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license (pending license accepted if application is in process)
• Greater than 1 year of Cardio Thoracic ICU or critical care experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must have recent trauma center experience at a large facility
• Must be proficient in swan-ganz monitoring
• Flu vaccination required with no declinations allowed
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless medical or religious exemption is granted
• No prior disciplinary action on nursing license
