Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN with at least 3 years of cardiac cath lab experience for a day shift assignment with on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Cath Lab setting with 2 procedure rooms
• Typical caseload is 7-14 cases per day
• Patient diagnoses include Acute Coronary Syndrome, CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, AFIB, and Bradycardia
• Procedures performed include Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, pacemaker placements, loop monitors, TEE, and cardioversions
• Utilizes specialty equipment such as balloon pumps and IVUS
• Scheduled for 4x10 hour day shifts weekly (07:00-17:30), with one weekly late shift (10:00-20:30)
• On-call shifts required, with 30-minute response time; call shifts are from 17:30-07:00 during weekdays and 24-hour shifts on weekends and holidays, typically 10-13 call shifts per month
• Weekend and holiday shifts required based on department needs
• Floating to pre-op/PACU within the specialty as needed
• Responsible for providing specialized care for patients undergoing cath lab procedures
• Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call
• Holiday and weekend coverage required as assigned
• Will receive CPI training during orientation if not already certified

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications required; CPI may be obtained onsite during orientation
• NIHSS certification is preferred
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a cardiac cath lab is required
• First-time travelers with the required experience will be considered
