Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for night shifts requiring IL RN license, BLS, ACLS, and EKG rhythm strip competency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital telemetry unit
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Cares for patients needing telemetry and chronic ventilator support
• Requires expertise in EKG monitoring and rhythm strip interpretation
• Prefer experience with cardiac drips such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and cardizem
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 7:15
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units may be required
• Uses Epic EMR
• Assess and manage acute changes in patient condition in a fast-paced environment
• Prefer candidates competent in initiating and maintaining cardiac drips
• First-time travelers accepted
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off considered

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of application
• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Competency in rhythm strip interpretation required; must pass EKG strip test at orientation
• Chronic ventilator experience required
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• Pending licenses not accepted
