Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a CA RN license and extensive acute care OR and robotics experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital
• 5 OR suites with 8–30 cases per day including ortho, urology, GYN, neuro, general surgery, ENT, podiatry, DaVinci, vascular, and robotics cases
• Patient population includes adult and pediatric surgical cases
• Uses Cerner Surginet EMR with experience required
• Day shifts, Monday through Friday from 11:00am to 7:30pm
• On-call requirement includes 1 night per week, 2 weekend days per month (24 hours each), and coverage for 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• 30-minute call response time required
• May float to a facility approximately 6.5 miles away
• Scrubs are provided
• Responsibilities include circulating and assisting in all common surgical procedures outlined
• Construction is ongoing in the OR area and may result in increased noise levels until estimated completion in 2027
• Small, supportive OR team with Charge Nurse and surgical tech support present on weekdays
• RNs are not required to scrub but this skill is preferred
• Up to 2 days of department-specific orientation provided
• Must participate in unit's forced-call rotation in rare circumstances
• Holiday call coverage is required for at least one major and one minor holiday
• First-day orientation includes unit-specific training and policies

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years OR nursing experience in an acute care setting required
• Proven experience in all major case types listed including robotics
• Experience with Cerner Surginet EMR required
• Must reside or stay within a 30-minute radius due to call responsibilities
• Not eligible if employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health within the past year
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
