Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a DC license and a strong background in critical care for night shift assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Multidisciplinary ICU setting caring for neurological, neurosurgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
  • Night shifts: three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00pm – 7:30am
  • Unit utilizes advanced technology including ventilators, cardiac monitors, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella, BIS monitors, CRRT, and infusion pumps
  • Cerner EMR is used; prior Cerner experience required
  • Assignment is 9 weeks in length
  • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Care for a diverse population of critically ill patients with complex needs
  • Responsible for the operation and monitoring of advanced life support equipment
  • Must fulfill all licensure, regulatory, and certification requirements prior to consideration
  • Candidates must not be local to ensure eligibility
  • Adheres to team-based approach in a multidisciplinary care environment

Requirements

  • Active DC RN license required; no pending licenses allowed
  • Minimum of 3 years recent ICU experience required
  • At least 2 years of experience in a US hospital in the assigned specialty
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA only)
  • CPI certification required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Two supervisor or manager references verifying recent experience preferred
  • US Social Security Number required
