Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a DC license and a strong background in critical care for night shift assignments.
Details
- Multidisciplinary ICU setting caring for neurological, neurosurgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
- Night shifts: three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00pm – 7:30am
- Unit utilizes advanced technology including ventilators, cardiac monitors, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella, BIS monitors, CRRT, and infusion pumps
- Cerner EMR is used; prior Cerner experience required
- Assignment is 9 weeks in length
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
Requirements
- Active DC RN license required; no pending licenses allowed
- Minimum of 3 years recent ICU experience required
- At least 2 years of experience in a US hospital in the assigned specialty
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA only)
- CPI certification required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Two supervisor or manager references verifying recent experience preferred
- US Social Security Number required

- Care for a diverse population of critically ill patients with complex needs
- Responsible for the operation and monitoring of advanced life support equipment
- Must fulfill all licensure, regulatory, and certification requirements prior to consideration
- Candidates must not be local to ensure eligibility
- Adheres to team-based approach in a multidisciplinary care environment
