Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for night shifts with float and possible charge duties, requiring an AL or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Shift schedule is nights (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30), with an option for 4x12s
• Every other weekend required
• Floating as needed and possibility to take charge assignments
• Procedures performed include IV starts, wound care, use of wound vacs, and isolation precautions
• Level II Trauma environment
• 30 minute lunch break required with no skipped meals
• Potential to serve in a charge nurse role as needed
• Local candidates considered if residing within a 60-mile radius
• Local rate is $5 less than the travel rate
• Requested time off must be submitted prior to contract confirmation; no additional RTO will be approved afterward
• Concurrent per diem schedules or contracts are not accommodated

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification through AHA required
• Fit Test required prior to start
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Experience with IV starts, wound care, wound vac, and isolation precautions required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
