Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Step-Down position in New Jersey requiring at least one year of intermediate care experience and an active NJ or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Medical Step-Down unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week
• Epic EMR used; experience is required
• Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver evidence-based care
• Must demonstrate professionalism, respect, involvement, dignity, and excellence as part of care delivery
• Assignment duration limited to one calendar year before a mandatory 30-60 day break is required
• Compliance with background check and drug screening processes is required
• Holiday coverage based on departmental needs

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year recent step-down or intermediate care RN experience
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong communication and computer skills necessary
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
