Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Operating Room position requiring a BSN and a compact or SD RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level 1 Trauma Operating Room within an acute care setting
• 35 operating rooms with circulating responsibilities for one OR room
• 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, with one late shift per week from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm
• 2-4 night call shifts in a 4-week schedule, and potential day call
• May work every 5th weekend day shift as needed, with a weekday off in exchange
• Uses EPIC for charting
• No floating to other units but must be flexible to work in all specialties within the OR
• Responsibilities include circulating in the OR for surgical cases in a trauma setting
• Expect orientation to the unit within 1 week, with 1 day hospital orientation for charting and department overview
• Scrubs in Ceil Blue provided; no earrings allowed; must adhere to surgical dress code
• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Travelers are expected to work in all OR specialties as needed
• Local candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles are accepted

Requirements

• Active RN license in SD or compact state required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with EPIC EMR required
• Must not have worked for Sanford Health within the previous 6 months for consideration
