Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a hospital-based OR and Recovery Room role requiring a KY or compact RN license and strong surgical skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating and Recovery Room of a hospital setting
• Handles a variety of surgical cases including general, endarterectomy, aneurysm, vessel procedures, orthopedics, ORIF, arthroscopy, general surgery, laparoscopic, GI endoscopy, limited GYN, and some ENT procedures
• Assists with PACU patient recovery during call back situations
• 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30 with a 36/48 hour workweek rotation
• Required to take one call shift per week and one call weekend per month
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly
• No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
• Duties include circulating and scrubbing for a range of surgical specialties and assisting with PACU patient recovery when called back
• Expected to float within the OR and recovery room as needed
• Travel pairs are not typically allowed except in rare circumstances
• Annual license and certification updates are required per state and facility regulations

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
• PACU experience required for call back recovery support
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required
• Cannot have previous permanent employment with the facility
