Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with at least 3 years of experience and current ARRT and BLS certifications for an acute care contract assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care Breastcare Services department specializing in both screening and diagnostic mammography
• Screening examinations use Hologic equipment; diagnostic procedures include use of Hologic machines and a prone biopsy table with Bravera biopsy device
• Average daily volume is 14 diagnostic scans, and 21-25 screening scans in a 10-hour shift
• Shifts are 10 hours, days and evenings, with variable schedules such as 0730-1600, 0800-1630, or 0700-1730
• No weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements
• Uses Epic for EMR and Change PACS system
• Will perform standard screening, diagnostic breast scans, and occasionally assist with procedures
• Will not float between screening and diagnostic areas
• Lead technologist available but may not be onsite at all times
• Radiologists perform batch reads and report results later
• Must wear clean, professional scrubs in any color
• 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation are provided in addition to general orientation
• Not open to local candidates; 50-mile radius rule applies
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted
• Permanent employees must be separated for one year before applying for a travel assignment

Requirements

• ARRT certification in Mammography and current BLS required
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in mammography and at least 1 completed contract required
• Experience with both screening and diagnostic mammography, including special needs and implant patients
• Proficiency with Hologic equipment and Epic EMR preferred
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer from the past 3 years
