Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg Float Pool position in a Level 1 trauma acute care setting, requiring an active ND or compact RN license and BLS certification (AHA).

Responsibilities

Position based in an acute care hospital as part of the Med Surg Resource Team/Float Pool
Care for a variety of adult Med Surg patients including oncology, neuro, trauma, cardiac, observation, and more
Floats to all Med Surg units and overflow spaces across multiple campuses in Fargo
Units range in size from 24 to 47 beds
Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5 from 7a-11p and 1:5-6 from 11p-7a
Equipment includes Epic EMR, Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vital machines
12-hour day shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
Will receive daily assignments and may float within the Med Surg cluster between campuses
Responsibilities include head-to-toe assessments, medication administration, wound and line care, and development of care plans
Comprehensive orientation provided with shifts on different units and a campus tour
Navy blue scrubs are required
All RNs must badge in and out of the facility each shift
Holiday coverage is required as part of the schedule
Returning travelers must have ended any previous employment with this health system at least 6 months prior to consideration

Requirements

Active ND or compact RN license required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
Minimum of 1 year recent Med Surg nursing experience in a hospital with at least 200 beds
Experience with Epic EMR required
Previous float pool experience preferred
Experience in a Level 2 or higher trauma center required
Must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility; candidates 60-80 miles away are eligible at a local rate
