Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position, requiring a PA or compact RN license with recent trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 74-bed Emergency Department within a Level I Trauma Center
• Cares for patients in both the main ED and the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU), which features 22 beds with telemetry and negative pressure capabilities
• Night shifts are from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with every third weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required, including potential rotation to the ETCU
• No on-call responsibilities
• Responsible for caring for patients requiring trauma, stroke, cardiac, and behavioral health interventions
• Could be assigned to care for COVID patients
• Facility maintains a tobacco-free and fragrance-free environment
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract
• Blocked scheduling is not approved
• Med/surg nurses in the ETCU may be cross trained for tasks within the main ED
• Local candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility for travel rate eligibility
• Pre-assignment modules must be completed prior to start and generally take 5-6 hours

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license with no restrictions
• Minimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department experience in a Level I Trauma Center
• Current AHA or ARC certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Epic EMR experience is heavily preferred
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
