Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg role in a skilled nursing and rehab unit, requiring an active IL RN license and IV certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a skilled nursing and rehab unit within a long-term care facility
• Typical patient load involves direct care for up to 20 residents with an average daily census of 72
• Patient population consists of dementia and post-surgical patients requiring specialized medical and rehabilitative care
• Day shifts are 3x12 hours from 6:30 to 19:00 with every other weekend required
• Uses PowerChart for charting
• Involves with acute care and administration of IV medications, as well as wound care
• Lifting equipment is available for patient mobility and care
• No on-call responsibilities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius to be eligible for this position
• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during orientation
• Cannot take every holiday off; holiday coverage may be required
• Scrub attire must be any shade of blue

• Works closely with CNAs and HCAs in a team-based environment
• Orientation includes completion of paid modules prior to start

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• IV certification required before starting
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Dementia care training or experience highly recommended
• Strong customer service skills required
• EPIC charting experience required for certain units
