Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position requiring a CO or compact RN license with AWHONN intermediate certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital environment
- Patient ratio is 1:2 with an average daily census of 6–10 deliveries and approximately 225 deliveries per month
- Night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, on various days of the week
- On-call requirement of 24 hours per 6-week schedule
- Minimum of 6 weekend shifts required per schedule, exact schedule based on unit needs
- Floating required between Labor and Delivery units at sister facilities
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Role involves working in a high-risk birth center, women’s pavilion, and OB emergency department
- Scrub color is navy
- Holiday and peak season time off requests are restricted during specified blackout dates
- Local candidates are accepted; those residing within 75 miles are subject to the local rate
- Floating to other birth centers within the system is required according to unit needs
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP, ACLS, and BLS
- At least 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
- Proficient with sterile vaginal exams (SVE), fetal scalp electrode (FSE) placement, operating room circulator duties, and magnesium sulfate administration
- Epic charting experience required
- First time travelers are not eligible
