Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring a NM or compact RN license and TNCC certification.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a hospital Emergency Department with a Level I Trauma designation
- Patient ratios are typically 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Many rooms function as ED Holding due to a high admission rate
- May float to Adult PCUs as needed and potentially to ED Holding and Trauma units
- Optional floating to the Pediatric Emergency Department
- Schedule consists of night shifts (3x12 hours) with both 36-hour and 48-hour contract options
- Weekend shifts are required as needed, including both weekend days and nights
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- No on-call responsibilities
- No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Primary duties include medication administration, including IV medications, and documenting and communicating clinical findings
- Assignment is in a Level I Trauma, teaching and acute care children's hospital
- First-time travelers may be considered based on experience
- No parking fees
- Requests for more than 7 days off require approval
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license; pending license accepted at time of consideration
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC (required at submission), PALS, and NIH (may be obtained before start)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, preferably with Level I Trauma; applicants with 1.5 years will be reviewed
- Travel experience strongly preferred, but those with at least 2 years Level I Trauma experience may be considered
- COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions allowed with proper documentation
- Black scrubs required
