Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a rotating Operating Room Float position in a Level I trauma setting requiring active MA licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Operating Room Float unit covering a variety of surgical cases
  • Level I trauma center environment
  • Rotating day and evening shifts with 4x10 or 4x12 hour blocks, including weekends, call, and 2 weeks of nights
  • Day shifts for 4x10: 7a-5:30p M, T, Th, F; 9a-7:30p W
  • Day shifts for 4x12: 7a-7:30p M, T, Th, F; 9a-9:30p W
  • Evening shifts for 4x10: 1p-11p; for 4x12: 11a-11p
  • Weekend shifts are 12 hours, with remaining weekly shifts adjusted to meet contracted hours
  • Epic EMR is used and experience is preferred
  • Must provide high quality perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced Level I trauma environment
  • Local candidates must permanently reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard rate
  • Flu vaccination is mandatory with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
  • Parking not validated; candidates should plan for public transportation or daily paid parking
  • First time travelers may apply
  • Team-oriented work environment with support from experienced OR staff

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required; no conditional or pending licenses accepted
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience is required
  • Level I trauma experience required
  • Certifications must be American Heart Association (AHA) approved
  • Proof of MA RN licensure required for consideration
  • Primary source verification of licensure through Nursys and Board of Nursing required
