Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg role in a correctional setting, requiring an active IL RN license and mandatory floating.
Responsibilities
- Work in a correctional facility environment within the Med/Surg unit
- Typical schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Every other weekend is required, totaling two weekends per month
- Mandatory floating to any facility or unit within a 50-mile radius per organizational needs
- Uses Cerner for charting and documentation
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Must be willing to float to a variety of units or facilities, possibly with short notice
- Team-based care model may be used when floated outside primary competency
- No block scheduling or special shift accommodations are permitted
- Maximum of 5 days of requested time off allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO permitted on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
- Free parking is provided on a first-come, first-served basis
- Strict compliance with lab work within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required; booster not required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
- Correctional experience preferred but not required
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility
- COVID vaccination required
