Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and a minimum of one year as an RN.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Care is provided to critically ill cardiothoracic patients with complex conditions
• Night shift position with hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care and coordinate patient care using the nursing process
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and evaluation
• Perform bedside point of care testing as needed for the patient care plan
• Will be involved in cost-effective care and unit performance improvement activities
• Expected to participate in education and development activities relevant to the patient population
• Must report to the lab for drug screening within 24 hours of commitment

Requirements

• Active North Carolina or compact RN license required
• Minimum of one year nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited institution
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC) required
• Level 1 trauma experience required for consideration
