Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with AL or compact licensure for adult and geriatric night shift positions with floating and possible charge responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital medical-surgical unit
• Cares for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6
• Night shift schedule includes 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Option for 4x12 hour shifts exists
• Floating to other units required
• May be assigned as charge nurse as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Must work at least one of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
• Locals considered with a 60-mile radius rule
• Daily duties include IV starts, wound care, wound vac usage, and isolation precaution practice
• Adult and geriatric patients primarily cared for
• Meal breaks are strictly enforced with a 30-minute lunch required
• No RTO will be approved after contract confirmation—submit all requests up front
• No accommodation or adjustments for other per diem schedules or contracts

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification via AHA required
• Fit test requirement must be met
• Proficiency in IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care including wound vac
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
