Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position specializing in oncology patients, requiring at least two years of experience and expertise with EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Position based in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a focus on oncology cases
• Patients include those receiving continuous cardiac monitoring, chemotherapy, and comorbidity management
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• 12-hour night shifts (3x12, 19:00-07:30)
• Specialized equipment used includes GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, bladder scanner, and Stryker beds
• Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity when needed
• Uses the EPIC EMR system
• Responsibilities include symptom management, infection prevention, and patient fall prevention for oncology patients
• Requires strict adherence to infection control protocols
• Must be able to manage patients with complex comorbidities related to cancer or its treatment
• Dress code and additional compliance requirements will be communicated by American Traveler
• No mandatory break period between assignments for RNs changing representation at this facility

Requirements

• Active OH or compact state RN license required
• Minimum two years of RN experience
• Current BCLS certification required
• Proficiency in EPIC charting is required
• Ability to interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases
• Experience with blood product administration, central/PICC line care, and IV starts
• Comfortable with arterial line management and accessing ports
• Ability to assist with chest tube procedures and use high flow nasal cannula
• Previous travel experience is preferred
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
