Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Neuro position requiring recent Level 1 trauma and travel experience, plus a compact or TN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg-Neuro unit serving neurological patients
• Patient ratios are 1:7 utilizing team nursing
• Day shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 to 19:00
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though is rare between campuses
• Cerner EMR is used, and experience is preferred
• Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 end-of-year holidays if applicable
• Returning employees must have at least one year separation before being reconsidered as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront for approval
• Team nursing model provides collaborative support in patient care
• Scrub or dress code will be specified by the unit
• Cerner EMR orientation will be provided if needed

Requirements

• Active RN license in TN or compact state, obtained before consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience with at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Recent Level 1 trauma and large hospital experience required
• No first-time travelers accepted unless 3+ years of recent Med/Surg experience
• Associate degree (ADN) required
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
• Current BLS certification required
