Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Neuro Stepdown position requiring recent neuro and Level I trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Neuro Stepdown and Med Surg Overflow unit at a large hospital
• Patient ratios are 1:6 to 1:7 with a team nursing model
• Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00); schedule may vary
• Floating may be required to like units and campuses within 20 miles, though rare between campuses
• On-call and weekend shifts required as needed
• Block scheduling is not available, but weekend block may be considered
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Provide care to neuro and med surg overflow patients as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Must be willing to work holiday coverage as required, including two of three major holidays if they fall within the assignment period
• Returning travelers must have been separated for at least one year before rehiring
• Vaccination status must be provided
• Travelers previously employed by the facility should verify rehire eligibility

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required; pending licensure not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent neuro stepdown experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Prior Level I trauma center experience required
• Prior large hospital experience required
• At least one completed travel assignment required; first-time travelers not accepted unless 3+ years recent experience
• Must comply with NLC guidelines
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• All time off (RTO) must be included at time of application
