Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a DC license, required certifications, and two years of acute care OR experience for a 9-week contract.

Details

• Work in an operating room setting within a hospital
• 10-hour day shifts, 0700-1730
• On-call required for nights, weekends, and holidays
• No local candidates accepted within 50 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active DC RN license in hand
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• Two years of recent acute care OR experience in a US hospital required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
• CPI certification mandated
• BSN highly desired
• Must provide Social Security Number, driver’s license, and two professional manager or supervisor references from the past twelve months
• No pending license accepted for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for scrubbing and circulating during operative procedures
• Prepares the operating room, assembles equipment and supplies, and ensures all are functional and available
• Coordinates with team members to assess, plan, and implement intraoperative care
• Serves as a communication liaison for patients, families, and the surgical team
• Adheres to standards and aseptic techniques
• Holiday coverage required
• Must comply with work environment mandates including COVID and flu vaccination requirements
