Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in an urban Level I Trauma Center, requiring an active IL RN license and prior trauma ED experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of an urban Level I Trauma Center
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Requires prior experience in a teaching hospital setting
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units is required
• Uses Epic charting system
• Responsibilities include providing emergency care to a diverse patient population in a high-acuity setting
• RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days and are not permitted in the first or last week of the contract
• Former staff must have a 7-month break in service before being eligible for a travel position
• Block scheduling requests are not accommodated
• Participation in a team environment with support from cross-disciplinary colleagues is expected

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (must be in hand at time of application)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI
• Experience working with Epic EMR preferred
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
