Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit Float position in Ohio, requiring an active OH or compact license, strong telemetry skills, and night shift availability.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool within a hospital setting
- Float to any stepdown or PCU area and potentially other campuses including heart, brain & spine, and Dodd units
- Expected patient ratio is 1:3-4
- Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 07:30
- Must float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Uses Epic EMR and must have previous experience with this system
- Provide care and monitoring for stepdown and telemetry patients in various PCU specialties
- Candidates must be responsive to credentialing requirements, including timely completion of Ohio fingerprinting
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
- All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with application and built into initial contract
- Reference and work history documentation required during onboarding
- Assigned scrubs or dress code requirements will be communicated by the facility
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of stepdown or PCU experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- IV start and telemetry skills required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor
- Former employees eligible after 6 months away; current employees are not eligible
