Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit Float position in Ohio, requiring an active OH or compact license, strong telemetry skills, and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool within a hospital setting
• Float to any stepdown or PCU area and potentially other campuses including heart, brain & spine, and Dodd units
• Expected patient ratio is 1:3-4
• Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 07:30
• Must float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Uses Epic EMR and must have previous experience with this system
• Provide care and monitoring for stepdown and telemetry patients in various PCU specialties
• Candidates must be responsive to credentialing requirements, including timely completion of Ohio fingerprinting
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with application and built into initial contract
• Reference and work history documentation required during onboarding
• Assigned scrubs or dress code requirements will be communicated by the facility

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of stepdown or PCU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away; current employees are not eligible
