Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist/Cardiac Sonographer for a day shift position requiring at least 5 years of experience and BLS and RDCS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a short-term acute care hospital with a Magnet designation and Level III Trauma capabilities
- Perform inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms with a department caseload of 75-100 echoes per day
- Patient population includes adult and ER patients, with preferred experience in PICU, NICU, neonate, and teaching hospital settings
- Perform advanced echo procedures including 3D echo, bubble study, contrast agents, M-Mode, pharmacologic stress echos, RIT/RVOT, TEE, and treadmill stress echos
- Utilize Siemens and Philips scanners, Syngo, PACS, and portables
- Day shift Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM with possible block scheduling (Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday)
- Weekend shifts may be required depending on schedule
- Occasional call may be included
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required, but not to sister facilities
- Uses Excellian/Epic charting system
- Perform a wide range of adult echocardiograms and advanced cardiac sonography procedures
- Grey scrubs are required
- Flat rate parking available at $.55 per hour
- Must be able to adapt to a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Travelers must be gone for at least 3 months since last working as permanent staff before returning
- Ideally, requested time off should not exceed 5 days during the assignment
- First-time travelers are not accepted
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer
- BLS and RDCS - Adult certifications required; RDCS-Peds preferred
- Experience in inpatient and ER settings required
- Proficiency with Syngo and portable echocardiography required
- Experience with IV starts, PACS, and biopsies preferred
- Must have experience with Siemens and Philips echo equipment
- Pending state license accepted; License required if applicable
- At least one supervisor reference required for consideration
