Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring active WA or compact RN license, BLS, NRP, and strong LDRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Birth Center of a hospital setting with Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and antepartum patients
• Unit has 20 total beds: 12 Labor & Delivery, 8 postpartum/antepartum, 3 OB/ED rooms, 2 operating rooms, and a 6-bed level II NICU
• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend rotation
• No on-call requirement
• Uses Epic EMR
• Requires comfort in providing comprehensive postpartum care and education to mothers and newborns
• Responsibilities include circulating for C-sections and attending deliveries for baby receiving
• Team supports a multicultural population with Russian and Spanish speakers preferred
• Teal scrubs are provided as dress code
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Weekend shifts are required on a rotating schedule

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years total Labor & Delivery RN experience, with at least 1 year in LDRP
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, fetal monitoring
• Able to perform cervical exams, manage antepartum and labor patients, conduct amnio infusions, initiate and manage epidurals, fetal monitoring, IVs, and Pitocin
• Must have experience with all aspects of postpartum care for mother and baby from transition to discharge
• Circulating in C-sections required; scrub experience preferred
• Baby catching and receiving required
• APGAR and breastfeeding knowledge
• EMR experience with Epic preferred
