Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool ICU position, requiring recent ICU experience and flexibility to float between units.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Critical Care Float Pool across multiple ICU settings
• Patient populations include neuro, surgical, medical, cardiac, and critical care cases
• Float to Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, two Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostic, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU based on staffing needs
• Night shift position with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00PM – 7:30AM), including Friday, Saturday, and one additional shift during the week
• Required to float only to ICUs of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Provide critical care nursing across a variety of ICU environments
• Flexibility to meet changing unit needs is essential
• Standard holiday and weekend coverage is required
• Team structure varies between ICU units with strong interdisciplinary collaboration
• Orientation and supplemental training provided as needed

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Experience with IV start, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
