Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU travel assignment requiring 1 year of ICU experience and a current NJ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within a hospital setting
• Night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric critical care cases
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system is used
• Provide comprehensive assessment, planning, and direct clinical care for ICU patients
• Responsible for accurate documentation and patient education throughout the care continuum
• Uphold professionalism, patient confidentiality, and safety protocols
• Must be able to respond and adapt to prioritizing care as patient conditions change
• Holiday coverage may be required as part of the rotation
• Travel nurses are permitted to work for up to one year before a break is mandated

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required
• Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals allowed)
• Physical ability to meet Occupational Safety requirements
