Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of acute care experience and a GA OT license for a 13-week hospital-based assignment.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care OT department supporting patients hospital-wide
- Caseload includes a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses, including ICU, stroke/neurological, orthopedics, and general debility
- Day shift schedule from 8:00am to 4:30pm, 8-hour shifts, 5 shifts per week
- Four weekend shifts required per four-week period
- One winter and one summer holiday shift are required during the assignment
- Cerner EMR system is used
- Provide occupational therapy services from physician orders throughout the hospital, including support of ICU and post-surgical patients
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in an acute care setting
- First-time travelers are not specifically excluded
- Returning staff who were previously permanent must have a 2-year break before returning as a traveler
- Requested time off must be submitted up front; no requests will be accepted after offer
- Dress code or scrubs requirement not specified
Requirements
- Current GA Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience within the OT specialty
- BLS certification required
- Experience in acute care settings
- Cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
